What is a Straight Acting Gay?
First, It is not someone who puts on an act so the
world around them perceives them as a heterosexual. (Though if they
are in the closet this is understandable and who are we to criticise
that choice in their life?) there is no acting involved despite what
the title implies.
Most "Straight Acting" gay guys enjoy what is
considered Heterosexual traits except that they find other men
sexually attractive. These heterosexual traits may include playing
paintball without the worry of getting badly bruised, watching a
sport for the game and not because of the players, going to the
local pub on a Sunday with his mates for a pint and not there to
check other guys out, going to watch that action movie because
he is interested and not because the leading man is "Fine"
"Straight Acting" gay men are also well known for
walking into a room full of strangers and not one person in the room
realising that he is gay, He is not bothered if they know he is gay
but the way the world around him perceives him they naturally assume
he is straight.
Most of the "Straight Acting" gay men also prefer to
go to straight clubs rather than the well known gay ones purely
because they enjoy that "seen" over the other one.
Now this is not to diminish any gay men who do not
consider themselves "Straight Acting" that are also into these
heterosexual traits for the same reasons that I have mentioned
above.
There is no homophobia going on here, Just a way of
life by nature and not choice or an act. Chances are that if you
also enjoy the same traits as a "Straight Acting" gay man you could
